Homework
1 hour per week. Discussion questions will be posted weekly in the classroom. They will be reviewed each week by the teacher for completion, and will be required for each student enrolled in the course.

Class Experience

🔆 What if we looked at ADHD as a superpower? As with any superpower, it must be fully understood and harnessed. We all have a gift, so let's chat together about strategies that can be used for ADHD. We will start with understanding ADHD, and then move into research-backed strategies and habits. You can expect to learn practical, entertaining, and to-the-point material from this class.

We will focus on these main areas:
➝ How ADHD works in your brain and in your everyday life
➝ Increasing your ability to get things done
➝ Improving your emotion regulation and mood while reducing your anxiety
➝ Accomplishing a goal that's important to you
➝ Discovering and maximizing your strengths
➝ How to manage academics and ways to thrive emotionally

Each lesson will cover the following:

Week 1: Exactly how your brain functions when feeling unfocused or impulsive.
This week we will look into the neuroscience of ADHD. We will be breaking down the brain and ADHD.

Week 2: Habits and exercises for brain function and ADHD. Goal-setting strategies.
This week we will dive into habits that may be effective. We will also review different strategies to set goals with ADHD.

Week 3: Ways to crush disorganization and distractions. Managing academics effectively.
Distractions can be tough to manage, especially when it comes to academics. We will discuss strategies that can be used in the classroom this week.

Week 4: Managing peer relationships & understanding emotional regulation.
This week we will discuss strategies for managing your emotions and peer relations. You will be given various techniques that can be applied, from breathing methods to processes for effective conversations.

Please note: This is a self-paced class with no live meetings. Course materials will be uploaded for you to access at your convenience. During the first four weeks, students will receive unlimited support! Please reach out if you have any questions🌻

Understanding ADHD: The Neuroscience Behind the Superpower
 * Explore the neurobiology of ADHD and its impact on cognitive processes.
* Examine how ADHD manifests in daily life, including challenges with focus and impulsivity.
* Discuss current research findings on ADHD and its implications for treatment and management. 
Lesson 2:
Harnessing Your Superpower: Strategies for Productivity and Goal Achievement
 * Identify habits and exercises to optimize brain function and mitigate ADHD symptoms.
* Learn effective goal-setting strategies tailored to individuals with ADHD.
* Explore techniques for managing time, prioritizing tasks, and staying organized amidst distractions. 
Lesson 3:
Conquering Distractions: Academic Success and Beyond
 * Discover practical methods for managing disorganization and minimizing distractions.
* Discuss strategies for thriving academically, including effective study techniques and classroom accommodations.
* Explore ways to navigate academic challenges and capitalize on individual strengths. 
Lesson 4:
Mastering Emotional Regulation and Social Relationships
 * Learn techniques for managing emotions and reducing anxiety in social settings.
* Explore strategies for fostering positive peer relationships and effective communication.
* Develop tools for navigating conflicts and building resilience in interpersonal interactions.

I have also completed child and brain development research and worked as a certified educator. I am immensely passionate about teaching youth about mental health and have completed years of doing so as a therapist and educator. Due to my background and expertise, I can teach this topic from a developmentally appropriate point of view.
