Students will use art techniques for creative thinking and self-awareness. Students will have the opportunity to visually express emotions or feelings through drawing and color. Students will practice speaking and presenting skills as they share their creations with the class. Students will create / use a HW/calendar Journal Students will Identify tools to manage time better. Students will describe emotions associated with specific experiences Students will identify factors that cause stress both positive and negative Students will evaluate ways of dealing with upsetting situations

I have over 11 years in the standard classroom setting (K-12) and over 2 years ESL online teaching. I have been honored to be a special education director, dean of students and work as a trainer of other district staff at the state department level. Areas of specialty: Special education [Autism-Asperger (social & communication), ADHD, and SLD], Art - (fine art classes, studio art & art therapy), Fashion design (sewing technique & couture training). Homework prior to the class beginning will be to have all the requested supplies ready and next to the student at the start of class. This will be the first lesson on the importance of preparation. Each week will have a homework assignment given in class that will be due the following week. After class I will post all homework assignments on the classroom portal page of Outschool. Each assignment should take no more than 30 minutes to an hour, depending on each learner. (these are activity based and for enjoyment and growth).
Any Supply updates or needs for each week will be posted to the online classroom at least 48hrs prior to the course starting. Supplies: Setting ourselves up for success – supplies needed throughout semester at each class: Journal / Sketchbook pencil colored markers/color pencils optional: colored sticky notes
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
