Class Experience

In this one-time 45 minute class, we will be exploring addition and subtraction of fractions and mixed numbers with unlike denominators. Students will practice finding common denominators and equivalent fractions in order to add and subtract fractions properly. Students will also practice converting improper fractions to mixed numbers and mixed numbers to improper fractions. Students will be able to add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators. 
Students will be able to find common denominators using the least common multiple. 
Students will be able to convert mixed numbers to improper fractions and improper fractions to mixed numbers.

Notebook/paper and pencil OR whiteboard and dry erase markers

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
