We will explore adding and subtracting fractions! This class will focus on adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator. We will add fractional parts up to 1. Students will add and subtract fractions based on different story problems. Ex: Lindsey ate one-fourth of a pizza. Ryan ate one-fourth of a pizza. How much pizza did they eat in all? In this class, students will learn: - to add and subtract fractions with the same denominator. - to write fraction number sentences based on a story problem. - to draw a model based on a given fraction expression. - use fractions to solve story problems.

Supply List
A one-page handout will be provided before the first lesson. Students will need to bring the included handout, a pencil, and writing/coloring tools to draw fraction models.
