- Brief overview of faux calligraphy and brush lettering - The anatomy of a guideline - the rules and how to break them using "dips" and "reaches"
I have been doing hand-lettering freelance for over six years. This includes brush lettering, faux calligraphy, and traditional calligraphy. My particular expertise is in creating home decor signage, card design, and wedding calligraphy.
Learners may use the skills they learned to write various words and phrases outside of class. Totally optional, but calligraphy is addictive. Don't be surprised if you find sticky notes with fancy grocery lists, random words, and homework assignments. :) Practice makes perfect! Use the free, provided printable practice sheets over and over to master your skill.
Learners will need a pen/pencil, paper and the printable worksheets found on the main classroom page. If your learner has experience using calligraphy utensils such as a dip pen or a brush pen, they may use these as well.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
