Does your child get frustrated when seeing a fraction? Well, this is their lucky day! This is a one-time class that introduces the basics of a fraction. Students will gain the skill of identifying a fraction and presenting a problem to the class. I encourage students to bring paper and a pencil to take notes. I will provide a PowerPoint for visual learning. This will be a one hour class session. The class breakdown is: *Introduction* I will begin the class by introducing myself and taking attendance. *Class Lesson* Using the PowerPoint, students will learn what is a fraction, numerator, denominator, and fraction bar. Then, students will take part in the class by providing examples of each terminology. For further clarification, I will provide an orange to show students the difference between ½, ¼, and ⅙. I will split the orange and ask the students what the fraction of the orange is. This will help visual learning students understand the concept better. Students will learn how to figure out the fraction based on math word problems. *Class Activity* We will start our class activity by using a cracker to demonstrate the difference between ½ and ¼. Students will participate and answer questions based on the fraction made when splitting the cracker. Then we will shift our class activity to the whiteboard where I will present students with visual fraction problems. The problems will include sliced squares, circles, diamonds, and other different shapes. I will color part of the presented shape and ask the students to identify what is the fraction. With more practice, this activity will make students gain more knowledge and can work quickly when identifying the fraction. This will strengthen their skill in identifying what type of fraction it is and help them in making real-life connections. *Wrap Up* I will ask students to present what they have learned to their classmates. Each student will say one thing they learned, what they liked about this course, and what they would like to learn next.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello everyone and welcome,
I am excited to teach youths about basic Algebra. I have five years of teaching experience, from preschool basic math to high school precalculus course. I have a Bachelors in Medical Studies and Masters in science of health care delivery from Arizona State University. I am applying for dental school this year.
I joined this fascinating community because I enjoy working with kids and presenting them with new lessons in unique way. I believe that every individual likes math but they struggle with it because they did not have a good math teacher. That is why I am here! I will simplify the process and approach your child in the best way that helps them retain the lesson. Using PowerPoint and white board, I will be able to break down math problems into small and simple steps that will be learned quickly and easily. I look forward to working with your child and making them ace math!
