Description
Class Experience
Students will improve their understanding of adjectives and by class end will be able to accurately identify and provide adjectives.
I have many years of experience working with readers, struggling readers and English language learners at the elementary level. I have participated in many hands on workshops and provided lessons in parts of speech and the many ways in which to teach grammar. I enjoy having fun in class and gear my classes to the younger crowd of students! I earn daily practice with my lessons because I am able to practice on my five, homeschooled children!
Tell your family what an adjective is! Optional worksheet for building an array of adjectives for different objects provided.
1 file available upon enrollmentOptional: Students are asked to bring one or two objects to class that can be easily described. These objects should be off camera and/or hidden inside a bag so other students cannot see them. We will spend time describing one or both of the objects so other students can guess what the object is, or we may show the objects and we will come up with adjectives together to describe it! Ideas include: a stuffed animal, a spoon, a pillow, a matchbox car, a plant...the options are endless!!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Class participation will enable the teacher to see how well each student understands adjectives.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Maple Leaf Learning video from Youtube on adjectives may be played depending on time
