This class will introduce learners to fun drama games that will get them moving and their creativity flowing. Whether they are aspiring actors or just looking to meet some friends and have some fun, this class will be a blast. We will explore, creating characters, exciting emotions and some basic on camera techniques. Learners get to act with each other and also have a turn taking center stage in many of our activities. As the teacher, I will demonstrate new concepts and techniques, and then I'll lead the students through each adventure. I believe the best way to learn about acting is by trying it! This high energy class will feature, warm up games, mini discussions, partner and groups activities and sharing what we learned with each other. Here are some of the fun things we'll do in this class: Jungle run: Exploring camera angles. Scavenger hunt: Convince us you have the coolest object in the world. How's the weather: Imagine your character is in a blizzard, or the desert. Mime time: Use physical actions to tell us a story There is no experience required for this class. Only curiosity and a willingness to try new things. See you there!
Learning Goals
Students will be introduced to many foundational acting techniques for stage, film and TV. Through the use of improv and acting exercises students will learn about how to create and commit to a character, as well as gaining confidence in their abilities through quick thinking and creativity.

Comfortable clothes to move in and a safe space around you. We also recommend you have a water bottle nearby.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Cassie is a professional actor living in Canada. She has taught acting classes all over Ontario, both online and in person. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies from the University of Guelph as well as an Advanced Performance Diploma from George Brown Theatre School. She has been acting for over 15 years.
