Eighteen years as a public school teacher in Maryland has provided me the opportunity to teach learners from diverse backgrounds with a variety of learning styles. I began my teaching career in elementary school, teaching all subjects and earning my Masters of Education with a certificate in Gifted Education from Johns Hopkins University. Later, I added both Middle School Math: 6-9 and ESOL Pre-K-12 certifications to my professional certificate. Most recently, I taught middle school math, working with both accelerated students and those with Special Education needs. Because of my varied experiences, I have many strategies to help all kinds of learners.
Homework Offered
Resources will be provided for independent practice at home. These will either be worksheets or online assignments through Classkick, Blooket, or Gimkit.Assessments Offered
At the end of the course, learners will take a summative assessment. I will create a progress report for parents based on their results.Grades Offered
Nearpod, Google Jamboard, and Classkick will be used to allow learners to collaborate and share work during class. If your child will be joining class from a tablet, please make sure to download these free apps to their device. Blooket and Gimkit games will be used to practice skills in a fun way with some friendly competition. Links for all these resources will be provided in the Zoom chat. Learners will click on them to enter the lessons. No log ins are needed.
