US Grade 4 - 5
Join us for a fun and engaging book club where we meet every week to discuss our book. Teaching conversationally, I will be fostering a love for books. Students in the class will be asked to think about what they read, form an opinion on what they read, and then share that opinion with others. We will also have fun rating and reviewing each book and comparing them to past reads. Students with a wide array of previous book club experience are welcome. They only need to be open to exploring...
Book clubs are a great way to teach students to form and share opinions with others, which are important skills to have as they get older. I run all book clubs so every student can answer questions that I pose and participate in the lively discussion. I am also aware that some students prefer to participate through chat than on a microphone, which is entirely acceptable and something I support. My goal for the students is to get them to share their thoughts in whatever way they feel comfortable doing that.
I am an experienced homeschooler who has been leading book clubs for over ten years. I have a love of literature that I share with my students. I am also experienced with students of all abillites and am patient and respectful towards everyone. If you have a 2E student or gifted student please feel free to reach out to me prior to class starting so that we may discuss your child's individual needs.
