Acting Lab: Building Character provides a basic introduction to acting and character development for a young performer. As directed by the instructor, students will interact with classmates, learn basic acting terminology, and begin creating dynamic characters in a fun relaxed online environment. Students will enjoy gaining skills in improvisation, acting, vocal awareness, and character movement for acting on both stage and screen. I hope to see you at the next session of Acting Lab: Building Character!

Hi! I am the artistic director of Northwest Theatre Lab, an educational youth musical theatre company where I direct children of all ages and teach acting, voice, and creative movement classes. I have been a guest instructor and scenic artist at regional theatre companies across the Northwest, as well as a regional theatre and Disney performer. I have taught theatre and language arts in the public schools as a certified secondary teacher, and have home schooled my three children. I also love scrapbooking, graphic design, and video editing.
My passion lies in the performing arts and language arts. I am excited to offer classes in acting, voice, musical theatre, puppetry, stage craft, creative writing, and literature. The performing arts classes I teach are active and have students moving, performing, and creating. My language arts courses are discussion and activity based within a relaxed academic environment. I am a firm believer that students learn and retain knowledge from doing and are capable of more than they know.
I believe everyone has a talent, gift, or as I like to call it a "super-power". My super-power is finding the story within every performance, performer, and writer. I am excited to discover the super-power of my student's at Outschool!
