Acting Improv: Improvisation Games

Games where stories are created from improvisation in this acting class. We establish rules, accept a suggestion (theme), and let our imagination work. Great class for shy students and for those who want to learn how to think quickly.

Class Experience

Improvisational theatre or IMPROV ACTING - often called improvisation or improv, is a form of theatre (often comedy).
Most of all of what is performed is unplanned or unscripted, created spontaneously by the performers.
In this class, we will play "improv games" and create our stories based on randomized suggestions.
The teacher explains the rules and organizes the students to make sure everyone participates.
We move from one game to the next after 5-8 minutes to keep the class fun and dynamic.
Each game helps develop skills - confidence, wit, clear speech, etc.
No experience is required. Although improv is known as theater, non-actors love it as a hobby because it is fun and can make friends.
The first week of the month: Improv Games- "Ice Breaker" + "Five Things" + "One Word at a Time."
The second week of the month: Improv Games- "Warm-up" + "Swap this" + "Interrupt the monologue."
The third week of the month: Improv Games- "Team Building" + "Yes, and..." + "Think quick."
The fourth week of the month: Improv Games- "Accepting suggestions" + "Relate and Build."
The fifth week of the month: Improv Games- "Best of improv games."
As the course goes on, we will rotate with the same exercises and add more as the students get better at them.

*When taking an acting class, participation is important. Learners must have their cameras turned on.
