Students will learn techniques to understand what it takes to be a comedy actor. They will learn how a comedy actor differs from other actors. They will learn the four most important “C’s” of comedy. They will learn how to perform a comedic monologue and how it differs from other monologues. We will discuss script analysis and how it pertains to monologues. Kids will be sent age appropriate comedic monologues prior to class and will need to pick one to perform during class. Students will be sent comedy scripts and learn how to perform them in class with their classmates. This class will be filled with laughter while everyone learns about comedic acting. If your child has not had any introduction into acting, it is my recommendation they take my Acting Introduction for Kids class prior to taking this class.
Learning Goals
Kids will learn how comedic actors differ from other actors. The students will understand how to perform a comedic monologue and script. Students will learn tips and tricks on how to memorize a monologue by analyzing it.

Handouts will be posted in Outschools Classroom prior to class that need to be printed out and brought to class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I was the Educational Director at the largest acting and modeling school in Los Angeles. I have been teaching acting and modeling to kids, teens and adults for over twenty years. I was an agent in Los Angeles and have represented actors of all ages.
I am a former Mrs. California Int'l and have judged pageants in the Miss America system. I have judged state pageants in California, Kentucky and Utah.
I have taught business professionals, fraternities and sororities proper etiquette and how to present a professional image. In addition to teaching, I am a licensed commercial real estate broker in California and Kentucky.
