In this 4-day class, we will work on introducing learners to acting! If you always wanted to give acting a try but felt too shy, this class is for you. In 4 days, we will meet fellow aspiring actors and get a fun introduction to acting from an award-winning actress. This is what we will cover: Day 1 - Introduction to Acting: what is it like to be an actor? How do we get on a TV show? Also, let's read some scenes and roleplay! Day 2 - Storytelling in Acting: Creating Character, Scene Breakdown, script reading. How do actors make character choices? What are stage directions? How do actors collaborate with writers and directors? Also, more scenes! Day 3 - The professional actor: casting. How do I get auditions? What happens at the audition? Again, more scene study and play! Day 4 - The confident actor: making it in the entertainment industry. Balancing life and an acting career. And, some more scene play! * We will start with acting tips (business and technique) and then read scripts/roleplay scenes. * Every learner is encouraged to try role-playing (although that is not mandatory). * By the end of this workshop, the learner should be able to understand what acting looks like, from taking classes to playing. *The learner will also know how to become a professional TV & film actor while balancing that with their personal life and school. * In addition, they will be able to decide what kind of acting classes they should look for if they decide to continue their learning! ____________ Keywords: acting, TV & film, Ms. Lambert, actors, acting career, school break, winter camp, drama, performance arts

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I’m Ms. Lambert, a Star Educator on Outschool since 2020, a professional actor, director, and educator, and a mother of two (ages 10 and 13). I teach improv, acting, social clubs, and discussion-based classes that help students build confidence, creativity, and communication skills in a fun and supportive environment.
With a background in theater, film, and storytelling, I love creating interactive and engaging learning experiences for all students—whether they’re outgoing, shy, or somewhere in between. I also speak multiple languages and enjoy exploring different cultures, which often inspire my classes. My passion for philosophy, books, and world events fuels dynamic conversations where students can think critically and express themselves freely.
I believe learning should be collaborative, inclusive, and fun—a space where students feel safe to share ideas, take creative risks, and connect with others. Whether through acting exercises, thought-provoking discussions, or casual social clubs, my goal is to create a welcoming and engaging space where every student’s voice is valued.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me reading, writing, playing video games with my kids, or enjoying the beach. I love storytelling in all forms—whether through books, movies, or improv scenes. I can’t wait to meet your learner and help them build confidence, make friends, and have fun in my classes! 😊
