Do you want to have some fun and do something creative? Then you found the right class! Students will learn about improv, writing scripts, the role of a director and the duties of a foley artist. They will get a chance to work with other students to create scenes and brainstorm ideas for a short script. They will practice thinking outside of the box, creating stories and working together. They will also work on their observational, listening and communication skills through the improv games. Overall, this will be a safe space for them to make new friends, have some fun and learn a little about the movie industry.
I have been a substitute teacher for six years for pre-k to high school students in all subjects. I am an avid movie fan and love all things film related. I have been an actor and filmmaker for the past seven years and enjoy teaching young people about the movie industry.
Please ensure the learners have room to stand up, move around and be active for Week 1, Week 3 and Week 4.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
