Beginner Level
This 6-week online acting class provides a comprehensive introduction to the foundational principles of acting. Students will explore essential techniques for script analysis, character development, and authentic emotional expression. Through a blend of interactive exercises, guided scene work, and personalized feedback, learners will build confidence and develop their performance skills. The class emphasizes a supportive and engaging online environment where students feel comfortable taking creative risks and exploring their artistic potential. My teaching style is patient and encouraging, focused on fostering individual growth. I combine direct instruction with interactive exercises, discussions, and performance opportunities. Students will receive constructive feedback to refine their skills and gain a deeper understanding of the actor's craft. Expect real-time interaction and the potential use of video clips, slides, or acting-based games to enhance the learning process. This week we will cover:
-Introduction to acting techniques (e.g., sense memory, emotional recall).
-Understanding objectives and actions.
-Basic script analysis.
-Introduction to vocal and physical warm-ups.
-Building confidence and overcoming stage fright (even in a virtual setting). 40 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Scene Study and Character Development
This week we will cover:
-Deepening script analysis.
-Developing character backstories.
-Working with given circumstances.
-Exploring character motivations.
-Beginning scene work with partners (virtually). 40 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Emotional Connection and Expression
This week we will cover:
-Focusing on emotional truth and authenticity.
-Exploring different emotional ranges.
-Working on emotional recall and imagination.
-Refining scene work with emotional depth.
-Improvisation exercises to free up emotional expression. 40 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Improvisation
This week we will cover:
-Developing improvised scenes with specific prompts and scenarios.
-Applying improv techniques to character development and scene work.
-Combining improv with emotional recall. 40 mins online live lesson

Supply List
Learners will need to provide their own 2-3 minute monologue. This is the monologue that will be workshopped in the class.
