US Grade 2 - 5
Acting 101: Acting for the Camera! is a beginner to intermediate level class for students ages 7 to 12 years old with an interests in acting in commercials, television, and film. This class covers all the basics-- -Confidence & Self Esteem Boosting -Improvisation Acting Games (Designed to engage the students with each other and stimulate their creativity) -The fundamentals and step by step break down of how to audition. They will be guided every step of the way -Scripts (age and reading level appropriate to each student) to work on as homework and share and present with the class. ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME! Beginners and those who maybe have taken an acting or performing arts class before. The class is tailored to every students level to help them grow in their individual ways. The class is structured by starting with a group warm up or icebreaker, then into the lesson we are working on that day, followed by time to present and share the scripts they have been working on. This class does build but students may join at at anytime and will be able to participate and be caught up on what they need to know. My teaching style is keep my students empowered, engaged, and creative. Safety is first and foremost in my classroom, and that includes making sure each student is seen, heard, and that their needs are met. I keep things upbeat and fun so that it not only keeps growing their skill level but also enforces a positive environment where they can build self confidence. Even through virtual learning, I try to engage the students with each other as much as possible to support each other as they present their performances and participate in discussions based on what we are learning. Progress reports and check ins are done weekly with how the students are progressing or where they might want or need extra help. Parents are welcome to contact me if they have any questions about their students progress in class.
