Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Week 1: Students will learn about the structure of the ACT Reading and English sections and how the test is scored. Students will be assigned a pre-assessment during the first session.

Week 2: Students will actively engage in ACT reading practice and learn specific strategies to support comprehension.

Week 3: Students will actively engage in ACT English practice and learn strategies that help deconstruct language structures in small passages.

Week 4 & 5: Students will begin taking practice tests with homework review.

Week 6: Student will take their final practice test. The test will be times as would the actual ACT.
Students will complete a Reading practice test after each session. It is recommended that students use 1 - 1.5 hours for homework. Practices should be done in a quiet location without disruption to ensure appropriate outcomes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Student progress will be monitored weekly through individual written reports. Students will take a final practice test to determine levels of proficiency.
1 hour 55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
The Official ACT Prep Guide. The book is available in digital and print format. I recommend using the learning style of the student to determine which format will work best. I prefer students have the printed format, however, it is acceptable to use either.
