Class Experience

Every week, I will provide detailed explanations for a brand new set of 5 ACT math questions from the Official ACT Prep Guide 2022-2023 Edition. There are 72 sets of 5 math problems in this book, and each week we will go through 1 set each week. Students may join or leave the class at any time, since each class will present explanations for a unique ACT reading passage. After we have covered all 72 sets in 72 weeks, we will begin to use the Official ACT Prep Guide 2023-2024 Edition, which will be published by then. Students are required to purchase the Official ACT Prep Guide 2022-2023 Edition (at the link below) to participate in class.

It is important to note that ACT math questions do not build on each other. Each and every set of questions is a stand alone assessment that tests the same skill set. Students do not need any prior experience with the ACT math section in order to be successful in this ongoing course. The "Beginner Level" is meant only to denote the speed of instruction and depth of explanations, and is not an indication that students need to have completed a certain number of ACT math questions prior to joining the class.

Week of August 7th: Questions 1-5 from the math section of ACT Practice Test #1 in the Official ACT Prep Guide 2022-2023 Edition
Week of August 14th: Questions 6-10 from the math section of ACT Practice Test #1 in the Official ACT Prep Guide 2022-2023 Edition
Week of August 21st: Questions 11-15 from the math section of ACT Practice Test #1 in the Official ACT Prep Guide 2022-2023 Edition
Week of August 28th: Questions 16-20 from the math section of ACT Practice Test #1 in the Official ACT Prep Guide 2022-2023 Edition

Since there is no end date for this class and it will be taught on an on-going basis, a new set of questions will be taught every single week. We will never cycle back to the beginning, but will cover 5 unique math problems per week from the 2022-2023 version of the Official ACT Prep Guide each week (over the course of 72 weeks since there are 72 sets of 5 math problems in this book.) At the end of the 72 weeks, we will repeat this pattern with the newly released 2023-2024 Official ACT Prep Guide. In other words, the same math questions will never be taught twice. A brand new set will be taught every single week for as long as the course continues, using the Official ACT Prep Guide. A new set of questions will be covered in every single class session.

In this on-going class, I will teach my signature methods for answering questions on the math section of the ACT. Students will learn how to efficiently manage their time on this section, how to understand what the questions are asking, and how to easily eliminate incorrect answer choices. They will also learn how to navigate the problems without getting overwhelmed and build confidence in their ability to answer ACT math questions. By the end of class, students will be able to explain the steps for navigating questions smoothly and demonstrate their understanding by applying the methods on a practice assignment.

This class is designed specifically for students who currently have a score of 20 or lower on the math section of the ACT, or who simply prefer a slower pace of instruction and more detailed explanations.
