Description
Class Experience
I will provide a brief overview of the four different sections of the ACT, including: # and type of questions, time limits, pacing, and focus skills. I will provide you with one "cheat sheet" for each section and one full-length practice test. I will also provide links to help websites/videos to help study specific skills. If your student would like a deeper dive into all sections of the ACT, check out my ACT Bootcamp, or if your student prefers a deep-dive into a particular section, check...
This class is taught in English.
Students will gain insight into the format, # and type of questions, time limits, and focus skills for all four sections of the ACT (English, mathematics, reading, and science), as well as, tips and tricks to reach your ACT score goals.
I am a certified secondary-level educator with endorsements in English, reading specialty, history, media specialty, and English as a second language. I currently hold a bachelor's, master's, and specialist degree in varying areas of education. Additionally, I am a current National Board candidate, and I have 12 years of experience in the public school classroom/5 years of experience in the virtual classroom setting.
While there is no required homework for this course, students will receive a full-length practice ACT assessment with the answer key and in-depth answer rationales to use as a tool to self-assess and determine what to focus on while preparing for test day. Upon completion of the self-assessment, you may request a one-on-one private session to review strengths, weaknesses, and an individualized study plan. For this option, check out my ACT tutoring sections.
Handouts, slides, and a practice test will be provided to students enrolled in this course.
Each student will be provided with an opportunity to self-assess and determine individualized study plans.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
