Acrylic Painting~Pot 'O' Gold
Class experience
In this one time class, in about an hour and thirty minutes, we will paint a fun and colorful background with a pot of gold using acrylic paint. I will be painting alongside you with step by step instructions, so that you can see exactly what to do. I will make sure the paint process will be just as fun as your master piece painting. Join in for a fun and relaxing art class. We will begin class by briefly discussing what brushes you'll need, colors of acrylic paint is needed, and see what...
Students will learn how to mix colors, see what happens when we mix water to acrylic paints to see what it looks like on canvas. They will also learn the importance of taking care of their brushes when painting.
I have my Bachelors Degree in Art and have been surrounded by art my entire life. Also on my free time I teach painting classes in peoples homes or at events such as birthday parties! I am always being artsy in some way!
#1. Paint: Acrylic paint in a variety of colors. You can purchase acrylic craft paint from your local craft store, such as Masters Touch Fine Art Studio paint or any brand you feel comfortable using. You should have the following colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Black, White, Brown, and Gold. Optional tools: Gold Sharpie Marker, Gold Glitter Glue #2. Paintbrushes: You will need a few different brushes. A large flat brush for large areas, such as backgrounds. A few smaller flat brushes (we use those for the majority of the painting). A medium and a small round tip brush for the final details. For most of my paintings I find that these brushes are enough: 3/4 flat, # 8 Flat, #6 Round, # 3 Round. #3. Canvas: Canvas board or stretch canvas work well. Size 8x10 Canvas. I will be using a canvas board #4. Palette: No need to buy a fancy pallet but if you have one that is fine. A paper plate, or a recycled plastic container will work well. #5. Cup with water to wash brushes in, an old towel, or paper towels to wipe the brush with. Don't forget to wear appropriate clothing for painting!
