Description
Class Experience
Students will follow a step by step tutorial on painting the owl using acrylic paints. Students will learn basic acrylic painting techniques including the care of brushes/materials, mixing colors, brush strokes and selecting correct brushes for each step. This course is a one time class for an individual or small class. The instructor paints step by step along with the students, giving guidance along the way through demonstrations and check ins with their projects (if they wish to share)....
This class is taught in English.
Students will improve their painting techniques while also growing in their confidence as an artist and creative.
No sensitive topics
No homework- but students will be encouraged to continue to look at their painting after class in order to make any additions of details or corrections.
Paper or canvas (something to paint on) Paper plate or palette (something to put paint on) Two brushes (a smaller brush for details and a larger brush for background and bigger areas) Jar/cup of water Paper towels/napkin/cloth Acrylic Paints: White (for body of owl) Black (for eyes, details of feathers, claws) Brown (for claws, tree branch) Yellow (for eyes) Blue (for background- light blue or dark blue or purple…for night~ your choice) Green- if you wish to add leaves to branch *A black permanent marker or paint pen (is helpful for details, but may use all paint)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment will be through their finished product and their enthusiasm and confidence in painting!
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
No sensitive topics Younger students may need assistance painting/managing supplies at times.
No other sources needed.
