Beginner - Intermediate Level
**PLEASE NOTE** This is a SELF-PACED class and is PRE-RECORDED. THIS MEANS STUDENTS WILL WATCH THE PRE-RECORDED VIDEO. There are no live meetings. All interactions between students and the teacher will happen on the class page. This class will be presented via pre-recorded video lesson. Students will upload images of their assignments for the teacher to see and comment on. This is particularly important if a final grade is required for homeschool or charter school credit. Why Self-Paced? *MY Self-Paced classes ALWAYS cost less than the live versions of the same class! *Self-Paced classes are an excellent choice for families with busy schedules. *Content is exactly the same as live classes, at a lower fee. *Students can work at an independent pace. *Self-Paced classes are fantastic for international students whose time zone doesn't match the teacher's (US Mountain Time), *Self-Paced classes are a great alternative for students who are uncomfortable with live video chat. Our Self-Paced format will be as follows: Content: Video demonstration of the process will be posted. Videos will vary in length depending on the type of art being presented. Some may be as short as 10 or 15 minutes while others could be ½ hour or more. Student work is expected to take anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour, depending upon the student’s preferred pace. Drawing Assignments: Students spend time completing their artwork and submit it via the classroom. Submit Assignment: Students are required to post photos of their completed artwork in the classroom on the designated post. Keep in mind, uploading artwork for the teacher to see is important for assessment and feedback. Detailed information about the class can be found in the syllabus.

Black Cat in Autumn
In this one-time class, we will review the "fall leaf colors" (yellow, orange and red) and how they can be depicted in the background using loose brush strokes that barely blend the colors.
We will draw the cat (or any subject or object the student chooses) on the canvas with pencil, then paint around the object(s) with yellow, loosely blending orange and red (and purple if the student wishes). 22 mins of video lessons

Canvas panel, 8X10 or larger (very heavy paper, such as 400lb watercolor paper also works) Acrylic paints: yellow, orange, red, black. Purple is optional These can be artists acrylics in tubes OR craft paint in 2 oz bottles. Paint brushes, medium, large and small as needed Bowl of water pencil, eraser newspapers or covering for tabletop/surface apron or old shirt to protect student's clothing
