Description

Class Experience

Students will follow step-by-step instructions & demonstrations to paint the mountain scene using acrylic paints.  Students will learn basic acrylic painting techniques including the care of brushes/materials, mixing colors (this painting will require more blending and color mixing), brush strokes and selecting correct brushes for each step. This painting will also have some focus on perspectives and proportions. This course is a one-time class for an individual or a small class. The...

Students will gain practice in painting with acrylics as well as will grow in their confidence as creative artists.

No high-risk or sensitive topics.

No homework, but students will be encouraged to revisit their paintings after class to evaluate if they want to make additions or changes to their work.

✏️Pencil 
🖼Paper or canvas (something to paint on)
🎨Paper plate or palette (something to put paint on) 
🖌🖌Two brushes (a smaller brush for details and a larger brush for background and bigger areas)
*If you have a fan-shaped brush, those work well for trees (not needed though!)
💦Jar/cup of water
🧻Paper towell/napkin/cloth
Acrylic Paints:
⚪️White -(for mixing and highlights)
🖤Black- (small amount for shadows in water)
🤎Dark Brown (for background trees/trunks)
📔Light brown or can mix dark brown & white (for rocks/sand/dirt at edge of water)
💙Blue (for water and mountains and sky)
🌲Dark Green- (for trees) 
💚Brighter Green or white to mix- (trees/grass)
💛Yellow- (for grassy areas/highlights)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Assessment ~Through class participation and enjoyment as well as through the completion of their painting.

1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
