1 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one time class students will draw and paint a turkey portrait We will start off by taking a quick look at my reference image Starting off with the head in the center of the paper I will break the turkey down into simple shapes and we will add his neck and feathers Once our drawing is complete we will paint it in. I will start with the background and then move on to the turkey. This is a guided drawing class but students are able to be creative with their own choice of colors and finishing touches. *Please see Supply List below Note: Please do not use printer/copy paper...children are disappointed when their work is floppy and doesn't hold up to painting. If you are unable to get a watercolor pad then mixed media would be another choice. A drawing paper pad, though not meant for painting could work as the paper is a little sturdier.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My teaching style: I am a rather introverted artist who teaches....I am told that I am patient, encouraging, focused, firm. I enjoy/work best with older students. I believe my students should be free to put their own creative touches on their work. I have limited experience with special needs students (ADHD, Autism etc) I hope this is helpful as you read through reviews and decide if your learner will be a good fit.
********************************************
My name is Camille Jacks, originally from Jamaica, I have lived in the US since 1991. I was awarded a portfolio scholarship to attend The Savannah College of Art and Design where I earned a BFA in Computer Art and Animation and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
My hands are always busy and I love to teach myself new things. I draw, paint, knit & crochet (have written patterns for magazines) needle felt, dabble in origami, macramé, weaving and sewing.
I started my teaching journey as a Media Specialist at a private Elementary school in 2004 where my little girl attended. We moved to Georgia in 2007 and I worked for a company as a mobile computer teacher working with Preschool and Elementary school kids at various schools. The business did not survive so I started working for a company teaching art in the after school programs.
Before Coronavirus I was extremely busy teaching my own adult and kids classes and workshops (oil, watercolor and acrylic) at local county fine arts facilities plus Summer Art Camps. I also taught for a year at a Montessori school and simultaneously started my Outschool journey.
Once in a while I get to do something cool like be a guest demo artist (needle felting) at The High Museum of Art in Atlanta (July 2018). When I am not working I am a mom to a young adult daughter. a little bunny and a Diamond Dove.
