Students will learn to paint with acrylic paint and practice different blending and brush techniques to create a beautiful summer scene.

Description
Class Experience
Students will learn: - Why I love painting and find it to be a relaxing and enjoyable hobby. - Blending, brush strokes, wet on wet painting techniques. - How to set up your painting space and how acrylic paint differs from other paints. - How to clean up at the end of class and care for your paints and brushes. - How to design your project by making a quick sketch on paper. - How to begin painting and build from back to front. The goal is to leave with a finished or almost finished acrylic painting.
I am an experienced classroom, after-school program, and summer camp teacher.
- Acrylic Paint and paper plates for blending - Paint brushes of various sizes - A canvas of your choice or thick paper - A covered workspace (Newspaper works great) - A cup of water -Paper and a pencil Optional, but nice (A hairdryer plugged in nearby)
There is no formal assessment, but I like to see students leaving class confident about trying other projects on their own.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
