I've taught English for over 25 years in various settings, plus I've been a home school mom for the past 14 years. I have seen many, many students lack a good knowledge of sentence writing, and it really begins to show when they get to high school (and higher levels) as they struggle with writing papers and essays. Middle school is an ideal age to use the language and writing skills that they know and begin to form good habits with writing. It's a great, practical life skill to learn now in order to achieve writing success!
