The sessions in the "Achieve Your Goals - Personal Growth, Leadership & Social Skills for Teens" class follow a structured curriculum, with built-in concepts and strategies tailored to help you reach your specific goals. Each workshop teaches students the techniques they need to build confidence, connect more authentically with others, and increase self-awareness. We begin each session by acknowledging our “Challenges & Victories”, where we look at recent victories and celebrate them, any challenges you have faced and what you learned, and then we look ahead at the goals you have set for yourself in the coming weeks. At the end of each session, you will have actionable takeaways you can immediately start using. The accountability strategies will keep you focused, supported, and on track towards achieving goals you have set for your own studies, sports, extra-curricular activities, or career aspirations. THIS COURSE INCLUDES: 10 one-hour online workshops Delivered live to small groups 1 workshop per week - Constructive workshops on personal growth and mindfulness skills are catered to current needs in a time of working (and learning) from home. - Structured activities tap into self-awareness skills to inspire teenagers and young adults to navigate real-life and online social situations with confidence and mindfulness. - In-class techniques and take-aways to integrate into real-life situations. YOU CAN EXPECT TO: Improve communication & effective collaboration at school, home, or online Be inspired Boost your self-confidence Navigate through social challenges with confidence Strengthen people skills Recognize your own behavior patterns Tap into your personal values and understand how to live up to your values in your day-to-day Build and engage with an authentic and helpful community Acknowledge and leverage your personal achievements Identify your personal strengths through critical thinking and self-assessment Learn how to create a daily practice of gratitude to strengthen your mindset Recognize your patterns and learn to make better decisions that move you through social circumstances mindfully Create a strategy for continual learning and habit-building Learn how to overcome fears and anxieties Set, structure & achieve your goals CLASS TOPICS: Class 1 Topic: Create a vision for your future, set your intentions, & map out your goals Results: We will connect with the specific goals you wish to achieve by the end of the course, and create accountability strategies to help you maintain focus and follow-through to reach them. Class 2 Topic: Happiness Box, Goal Grid, and Personal Wellness Checklist Results: Identify what makes you truly happy, and create a checklist that will help you do more things that bring you happiness. We'll also check in with your Goal Grid to ensure that your weekly progress is on track for reaching your goals. Class 3 Topic: Identifying and connecting with your core values. Results: Learn which values create your best and happiest experiences in life. You’ll understand how to easily create more of these "best" experiences and meaningful moments by intentionally honoring your values, and eliminating experiences that suppress what is truly important to you. (Exercises in identifying the values and how to purposely make choices and actions that demonstrate these values). Class 4 Topic: Emotional Intelligence & Self-discovery, and Understanding Yourself Better. Results: Learn about your own habits, personal patterns, and traits through a personal self-assessment. You’ll be able to identify your areas of strength when it comes to how you express yourself and zero in on behaviors or traits you want to improve. (This assessment helps frame the pain points and areas for growth that we focus on during the following sessions.) Class 5 Topic: Raising your confidence and overcoming fears, worries, and anxiety. Results: Learn 8 ways you can dispel fears, limiting thoughts and worries, and move through and out of anxiety. (The role motivation plays with our fear, as well as understanding where fear actually comes from and the emotions we feel when we’re afraid, and how to navigate out of this stage). Class 6 Topic: Understanding the Power of Gratitude Results: Learn to immediately build positive habits into your life that help you practice gratitude. We'll do a few prompts to think about the wide variety of things to be grateful for, and how gratitude can combat anxiety, fear and depression. (A practice in gratitude exercise, complete with immediately actionable steps practice gratitude regularly and fully.) Class 7 Topic: Understanding Hope & Why It's Important Results: Discovering the power of Hope, and why this mindset is an essential tool for overcoming mental challenges. Class 8 Topic: The Brain & Hope Results: Discovering how our brain works, and how a hopeful mindset helps us to manage our emotions, and consequently our actions and relationship with greater calm and success. Class 9 Topic: Identifying hopeful emotions Results: Learning which emotions we can tap into to that help us thrive and support us as we strive to reach any goal: in friendships, schoolwork, sports, or personal growth. Class 10 Topic: Creating a Hopeful Mindset Results: You will better understand how to improve aspects of your own behaviour by intentionally adjusting your mindset through the power of positive thinking and hope.
