In this two-part interactive class, students will learn how to confidently prepare for a musical theater audition. Whether they’re brand new or looking to sharpen their skills, they'll practice reading sides, singing, and tackling callbacks

Get ready to shine at your next musical theater audition! Whether it’s your first time or you’ve auditioned before, this fun and interactive class will help you build confidence, read sides, sing with expression, and crush your callback.

Students will:

Learn what to expect in a musical theatre audition, including callbacks

Practice audition vocabulary (slate, sides, callback, 16-bar cut)

Try out cold reads using short scene excerpts (non-callback materials)

Have the option to share a short song (16–32 bars) for supportive feedback

Receive their assigned callback song excerpt from Beauty and the Beast JR to prepare for the next class

No prior experience is required—just curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to try!

Audition 101 + Song Coaching

Students will:

Warm up with a short physical and vocal prep

Receive cold read callback sides (assigned in class) and work in pairs

Perform their cold read scenes with light direction and encouragement

Sing their prepared song excerpt assigned in Lesson 1

Participate in a final group reflection and supportive peer shoutouts
