Students will be asked to pronounce the words provided during class, and form their own sentences. They will be expected to review in-between sessions (each lesson is provided after class).Class Experience
This course is designed for students who already have very basic knowledge of French. It is specifically geared towards students who have completed the first Accelerated Beginner French Camp Part 1 (in which articles, nouns, verbs and pronouns are taught). The program of this course will focus on expanding vocabulary, verbs and tenses in French. We will also work on speaking and listening comprehension. We will learn how to speak in the future with "aller" and also in the past using compound past tense. The class will consist of 12 sessions over 6 weeks. These sessions will cover the following: Week 1 - Review: articles, nouns, adjectives - Review: personal/impersonal pronouns Week 2: - Verbs: être, avoir, aller (near future with aller) - Verbs: faire, pouvoir, vouloir, voir, venir Week 3: - Pronominal verbs and reflexive pronouns - Listening/Reading text Week 4 - Possessive adjectives - Dialogues/Speaking Week 5 - Passé Composé (compound past tense) - Practice writing Week 6 - Recap - Conversation and games
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to identify and understand simple French, expand their vocabulary (nouns, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions) and improve their pronunciation.
