Accelerated Algebra 2 Full Curriculum, With a Licensed Math Teacher

This ongoing course will cover the full year of college prep, Common Core Algebra 2. Students completing the entire course will be ready to move onto Functions, Trigonometry or Pre-Calculus. This is a teacher lead, interactive class; I will present the lesson and we will practice together. My goal is to build a classroom community where students are comfortable asking questions and commenting as I believe this drives the learning for the whole cohort. Each lesson will include a presentation of the topics being covered and time for the students to practice together/independantly on the content. I work to be readily available to all of my student's questions/concerns during and outside of our scheduled classtime.

Students interested in enrolling in this class must have completed a full Algebra 1 course and must be proficient with the content. This is a rigorously paced class intended for students that have mastered Algebra 1 and are intending to continue into higher math courses.
The topics covered:
 Polynomials and polynomial functions -weeks one and two.
   -The first part of this topic we will focus on polynomials; properties, graphs and computation.
   - The second half of this unit will focus on applying, Algebraic theorems and analyzing graphs.
Rational exponents and radical functions - week three.
   -This unit will focus on using rational exponents, graphing radical functions and solving radical equations.
Exponential and logarithmic functions- week four and five.
  - This unit will explore exponential and logarithmic functions, the natural base e and properties of logarithms.
Rational functions Weeks six and seven.
  - In this unit we will graph, perform operations on and solve rational expressions and equations.
Data analysis and statistics - week eight and nine.
  - This unit will explore combinations, factorials the binomial expansions and distributions.
Sequences and series January - week ten and eleven.
  - This unit covers arithmetic and geometric sequences. The students will study infinite and partial sum series and write explicit and recursive rules for sequences.
Quadratic relations and conic sections - week twelve and thirteen.
  - This unit focuses on the graphs and equations of conic sections including parabolas, ellipses, circles and hyperbolas.
Trigonometric ratios and functions weeks fourteen, fifteen and sixteen.
  - This unit focuses on right triangle trigonometry and trigonometric functions.
Trigonometric graphs, identities and equations - weeks seventeen, eighteen and nineteen.
  - This final chapter studies the graphs of trigonometric functions identities and solving trigonometric equations.
Cadence of class is one lesson each class period.
