  • Students will learn tips and techniques for writing academic essays and research papers.
Assignments
Frequency: 1-2 throughout the class
Feedback: as needed
Details: In-class assignments are given every week. Students write only in class. There is no homework (except for students who need extra time to write or get behind). We know students have busy lives and we have structured this class to consist only of high-value, high-impact in-class teaching and writing assignments. Feedback is given verbally and/or written to students in class and in their Google docs each week.
Grading
Frequency: 7 or more throughout the class
Details: weekly written feedback each week on their writing assignments informal verbal feedback in class
Students should already be able to write simple five-paragraph essays.
