Knowing how to tell time is a very important skill. It can help you determine whether you’re running late or whether you have plenty of time to spare. It can help you catch a train, bus, or plane on time, and allows you to know if you’re going to make it to an important get-together early or late. Being able to tell time by looking at a traditional clock is essential to understanding other things like time zones and international times as well. Learning how to tell time can also help kids with their motor and cognitive skills as well as mathematical skills. About Time is a class designed to help learners know about time and the clocks that tell it. Students will learn the days of the week, months of the year as well the four seasons. These are extremely practical lessons that will assist in everyday life. ***ALL LESSONS ARE PRERECORDED WITH NO LIVE CLASSES*** Students will receive a class video for each lesson on the Outschool classroom page to watch and interact with as well as be given a pdf worksheet of clocks to fill in the time. Students will learn the skills with the video and practice them with the work sheets. With the help of a parents students can take a picture of the completed worksheet and upload it to the class page for me to review. I will leave an encouraging reply and when needed corrections. Students will also be asked to record and upload to the classroom page a short video each week 10-30 seconds in length. Video topics for each lesson are listed below. ***These assignments are completely optional if you do not wish to record your students to upload*** What will we learn each week? Lesson 1: Learn to read Digital Clock to the hour Learn to read Analog Clock to the hour * Record and upload a short video of your learner with a digital or analog clock on the hour, telling what time is on the clock. Lesson 2: Practice Digital Clock to the hour Practice Analog Clock to the hour The four seasons * Record and upload a short video of your learner saying what their favorite season is and what they like to do during that season. Lesson 3: Learn to read Digital Clock to the half hour Learn to read Analog Clock to the half hour Learn days of the week * Record and upload a short video of your learner saying one thing they did on each day of the past week Lesson 4: Learn Digital Clocks to the 5 minutes mark Learn Analog Clocks to the 5 minutes mark Learn months of the year * Record and upload a short video of your learner saying what month their birthday is on and what number month it is (example: My birthday is in June.
