I have a PhD in psychology from the University of Arizona. I've taught college courses for over ten years.

I offer a critical thinking question & "test your knowledge" section after every three/four lessons. At the end of the course, I also provide three "challenge" assignments integrating the concepts we cover over the entire course.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

I will present information about the criteria to diagnosis the different disorders from the DSM. Some of the criteria might be violent in nature. For example, with antisocial personality disorder, there is sometimes violence towards other people. I will state the criteria, but we won't go into detail about the violence. Most of the class will be focused on current research with the different disorders. We will sometimes use case studies to illustrate points, but the material will be age appropriate for learners 13+.
I will use the DSM V, as well as current research articles, in the class. I choose case studies from peer-reviewed academic journals such as the Journal of Clinical Psychology & Clinical Case Studies.
