This class is taught in English.
Students will learn the 26 letters of the English alphabet and their corresponding sounds, practice writing the letters, and will be introduced to words that begin with those letters. Students will also learn sight words and recognize them, and begin using word families to build new words.
My background in Child Development/Early Childhood Education gives me a solid framework in creating developmentally appropriate activities for younger children. I’m also TESOL certified. I have had over 20 years of combined classroom and homeschool experience working with younger children and sharing my love of reading great literature with them!
No homework is assigned.
Students will receive a learning packet to download and print each week. They will be made available by each Sunday evening prior to each week's lessons.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents, please be available to help in case your student needs assistance with participating in annotations (circling objects on their screen.) This is not required for the class but does make for an engaging time together.
