In this fun and engaging tutoring session for ages 5-9, we’ll dive into exciting reading adventures with:

Consonants and vowels
Consonant blends
Rhyming and phonics practice
Reading comprehension
Vocabulary and grammar basics like punctuation and sentences

Each week, we’ll practice phonics and blend sounds together, explore fun stories, and build our vocabulary. I like to use interactive slideshows where students can draw on the screen, and I also bring letter props and objects to help make reading extra fun. We’ll trace words in workbook packets, learn rhymes, and even keep everyone moving with song and movement fun!

My teaching style is very interactive. I like to help children truly learn with their whole bodies and I teach to all learning styles (kinesthetic, auditory, visual, linguistic, social, solitary, and logical). I use techniques such as call and response, singing, chants, flashcards, picture visuals, and video presentations. I give children a chance to enter lessons at their own pace and if they are shy at first I allow them time to warm up and they feel comfortable.
