ABC's & Phonics! : Letters & Phonemic Awareness

In this class Pre-K & Kindergarten students will learn all the letters/sounds of the alphabet as well as develop phonemic awareness - which is the foundation on which all phonics instruction is built! We'll have Letter "doh" fun as well!

Class Experience

Welcome to the wonderful world of phonics!!  In this ongoing class your little learner will learn all the letters of the alphabet - how to write both lower and uppercase, their sound, the letter we use to represent that sound as well as how to identify words that begin with that sound!  We will learn one letter per week - we will fully immerse ourselves in that sound/letter!  We will identify words that start with our letter, we will chant our letter, we will write our letter and we will read...

Students will identify a letter sound.
Students will identify a letter name.
Students will write the lower case and upper case letter - first with air writing, then with crayon/marker-and finally with Play Doh!!
Students will identify words that begin with the letter sound.
Students will develop phonemic awareness.

I have been a Private Tutor for 15 years focusing on early literacy, phonics, reading and writing.
I have been teaching ESL Online to children all over the world for 5 years.
I have been homeschooling my own children for 11 years.
I have been teaching ELA and history at a Homeschool Co-op for 10 years.

I will provide a fun and engaging after-class package to extend class learning!  It will be in PDF format.

Learners are encouraged to bring:
- Worksheet that is provided before class in the Classroom area (PDF format)
- Play Doh
-Paper/Whiteboard
-Pencil/Colored/Pencil/Crayon/Marker

25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

I will post a PDF in the Classroom area that can be printed out and brought to class!
