Description
Class Experience
In this class, we will learn what variables and constants are and how to use them in math. We will learn that letters are not to be feared when mixed with numbers, but are simply puzzles to put together. We have to play by the rules in order to put the puzzle together, so we will learn the rules and how to make them work for us. In this class, we will learn how to handle variables and constants as well as how to manipulate the equations to solve them. This class will be great as a review...
Students will improve their understanding of working with basic algebraic expressions and equations. They will demonstrate understanding of variables and constants and how to manipulate them to solve basic equations.
Currently I am the teacher for Math Fundamentals for our hybrid home school program. I enjoy teaching with excitement and cheering my students on as they learn to master mathematical concepts. I also have experience with students who have fallen behind and need a boost to catch up. It is my greatest desire to cheer my students on to mastery!
Homework will be to finish any practice problems that were not completed in class. This will assist in reinforcing the concepts that were learned. This is typically no more than 8 or 10 problems - just enough to practice with independently.
I will provide all handouts necessary for the class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learner progress will be assessed though engagement in class and the ability to solve problems covered in class.
3 hours 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
