In this one time class, students will learn the name of the 26 letters of the alphabet (upper and lower case) and the phonics. Students will first listen to the sound, and then be given the opportunity to repeat the sound. Students will practice repeating the sounds. Class will be adjusted to fit the students’ needs. This class will be offered several times a week on-goingly for any student who wants to practice the phonics with the class. So students may sign up as many times as desired. Practice makes perfect!!! Each time we meet, I will start the class with the “Phonic song.” External tools that I will use in class will include: Youtube Starfall The 45 minute session will include a few minutes of "talk story" time for teacher and students to get to know each other a little bit.

To know the 26 letters of the alphabets and their sounds.
To be able to recognize the name of each letter at random.
To be able to say the sounds that accompany each letter of the alphabet.Other Details

I teach Conversation Cantonese, basic math and language arts to Kindergarteners and life skill classes to older elementary-age kids. My professonal background is in Social Work and I am currently in my last year of schooling to become a certified Special Ed Teacher. I have worked as an emergency-hired Special Ed teacher in an elementary school for one year. I have worked as a substitute teacher for the elementary schools for two years. So in total, I have 3 years experience working with elementary school students.
My philosophy behind teaching is that anyone can learn no matter what level they are at. And students learn best when class is interactive and fun. Thus, occasionally, I will use humor in class.
Something fun and personal about me is that I have a cat named "Baby." Reviews
