Class experience
Students will understand the letter shape, the sound the letter represents, and simple rhyming words. Through teacher-directed activities, your child will create a work of art with given letters and letter sounds. These classes are stand-alone courses, and your child will need no prior knowledge of previous classes. At the beginning of class, approximately five minutes will be for introductions and warm-up activities that include songs, skywriting, and letter/sound reinforcement. About...
Students will produce a primary work of art relating to a given letter and letter sound. Students will learn letter sounds, letter shapes, and simple words.
Homework Offered
Parents may want to reinforce the letter lessons by talking to the child about the art project. Any work not finished in class can be done after class. Parents may want to reinforce the letters and letter sounds by having the child identify beginning sounds or simple words that represent household items.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

The children will assess their own work of art. Parents may request an informal written report on their child's progress.Grades Offered

Some activities may require your child to use scissors. Please make sure the scissors are of good quality and are safety scissors. There will be times that we may be using Google Slides to present materials that are relevant to the lesson. For example, if we are on a lesson that has to do with the letters of the alphabet, or words that begin with certain vowels, I may use Screen Share to present pictures or words on Google Slides that go along with the lesson. Google Slides will only be used during screen sharing in class.
