In these classes we will look at the different sounds of the letters of the alphabet - 1 letter each class. We will learn the sound of the letter, write it along with other activities.

Description

Class Experience

We will meet twice a week in this ongoing alphabet class where students will learn the sound made by each letter - we will look at one letter in each class.
They will practise writing the letter, identify pictures/ words beginning with it, will look at simple words containing it and draw something beginning with it.
Each learner is encouraged to bring something beginning with the focus letter to share during the class.

Week beginning 2nd May: letters a and b
Week beginning 9th May: letters c...

Students will learn the sound each letter makes.
They will be able to hear the sound at the beginning of a word and understand that words are made up of different letters and sounds.

Paper and pencil or whiteboard and marker for the children to practise writing the letter.

50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
