***Please note that the minimum number of learners for this class is 3. If 3 students are not enrolled 24 hours before the class, your student will be transferred to the next available class time! Please reach out if you have any questions!*** The name "Aaron Burr" is so familiar now since the release of the musical, "Hamilton." It's all too common to even sing his name to a tune like we hear so many times over again in the musical, "Aaron Burr, sir." But who was Aaron Burr? Sure, he was the guy that killed Alexander Hamilton in a fateful duel. But why? What was the duel really about? Did you know that Aaron Burr is the only Vice President EVER to commit murder while in office? And what happened to Aaron Burr after he killed Alexander Hamilton? We will answer these questions and so many more in this class all about the infamous Vice President, Aaron Burr. In this lecture and discussion style class, students will follow along to a presentation all about Aaron Burr and his life - both personal and political. Students will be encouraged to talk and discuss their ideas about Aaron Burr and the events surrounding his life. However, students who are more comfortable staying quiet and simply listening in are just as welcome! I'm looking forward to discussing the infamous Aaron Burr with your students! There is no previous knowledge required for this class. We will take an in-depth look at Aaron Burr and what made him so memorable (or not so memorable).
Learning Goals
Students will have a better and more historically accurate idea of who Aaron Burr was and the impacts he had on the United States.

I love teaching interactive classes that get the students involved while feeling completely comfortable while they are in my classroom. I was such a shy student when I was in school and it warms my heart to see students that remind me of myself. I love working with these students and helping them build their confidence. Reading, math, and American history are my passions but I hope to offer many different types of classes for your learners including fun crafting classes, as this is something I love to do in my free time!
I have been working with students since 2007, when I began babysitting. I even took a course when I was in middle school that made me a Certified Sitter through the Red Cross. As I got older, my passion for helping and teaching children only continued to grow. I completed the education as a career pathway course in high school which allowed me to work in a local elementary school for 2 of my high school years. I gained so much experience while doing this. I was able to work with small groups of students on things such as math and reading, which is where my passion began. After high school, I went to college for three years to become a teacher before changing my major to sociology. I still loved teaching, but I became so interested in how our society affects the way that students learn and the opportunities that they have. Throughout college, I worked as an assistant in an after school program where I was responsible for working with children ages 5-11. As the years went on, I was promoted to the director of the after school program. Along with being the director, I was also an online ESL teacher. Currently, I am teaching 1st grade at a local private school and I absolutley LOVE my job! In my younger years, I always wanted to teach and I still want to teach. I have equipped myself with years of education experience as well as sociology experience and I have a good grasp on why children act the way they do and how those actions can affect their learning. I love the online platform because it allows me to do what I have always wanted to do - teach.
I am so excited and thrilled for the opportunity to meet your learner! See you soon!!
