50 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
1 hour per week. Homework is not assigned. However, if the journal activity is not finished during class, I will encourage the student to finish it within that week. I will attach a weekly review slide to help work on at home if needed.Class Experience
US Grade 2 - 3
In this ongoing class, we will explore a particular animal relating to the specific letter of the week. The class will run for 50 minutes each week. While I am sharing the particulars about the specific animal, there will be a presentation with real photos and videos showing the animals living in their habitats. Students are encouraged to ask questions and inquire about their own curiosities. We will have open discussions as we learn, quickly review, and then start our journaling activity for that week. A journal sheet will be provided upon class registration; however, the students are more than welcome to use any blank paper/journal they have available to them. A few of the things we will discuss are the animal's groups, habitat, distinctive features, behaviors, sleeping habits, weight, height, life expectancy, parenting skills, and so much MORE! When children can recognize the specific behaviors of animals, they’re better prepared to respect them and learn new information that will carry with them as they grow. This class is designed to create curiosity and a desire to explore more animals on their own. I will do this by quickly showing multiple animals that all begin with the letter for that week. This helps children see and create the desire to research on their own an animal they are not familiar with or recognize. Your student is welcome to join this class any week they are interested in or stay for as long as they want. Class Schedule: (Week of) - I will continue to update as time goes on **The first animal** in the list, for each letter, will be the one we discuss in detail and journal on in class.
