Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
• To inspire each Minecraft architect, and expand their building creativity.
• To give architects a chance to unite and share their knowledge with the class.
• To help architects bump their skill level up through the aid of the students in the class.
• To help architects work with a build deadline, as they also pay attention to detail.

The FLEX class learning goal:
• To give students an opportunity to navigate the Outschool classroom forum efficiently.
I'm a mom, gameschooler, and learner FOR LIFE! Minecraft helps make this so much more fun!

Being a gameschooling family, Minecraft has been a part of our homeschool days since the purchase of our first copy...for the XBOX 360. Since then we've expanded the collection, and can be found playing on numerous platforms! It's taken on many roles through the years, in our home, and it's been really fun to come up with creative ways to add in another Minecraft project here and there. I love that it offers so many different ways to explore, and so many different ways to be creative. It really does let kids do what they want in a world all for them. Allowing their imagination to run wild, one block at a time!! I have enjoyed teaching my "Minecraft Builders Challenge Clubs" on Outschool and wanted to come up with a way to make it available to more students. With the ongoing club students come up with the ideas for each challenge, but with these FLEX classes I get to come up with them! I have really enjoyed that! Theme builds and book builds have to be 2 of my most favorite things to do in Minecraft. I'm a creative, peaceful mode girl!

I can't wait to see what each build challenge turns out like. I am really excited to see how each week will inspire every single architect that enrolls in this class. My intention for this class is to spark interest in themes students might not have thought of on their own. It will also give everyone a chance to see the different design choices that can be dreamed up on this versatile gaming platform. This class is designed for students with Minecraft knowledge. There will be no lessons on how to use Minecraft. This class is all about designing builds that meet each week's challenge requirements. How each student interprets the challenge is up to them.

I love a good winter wonderland themed ANYTHING!! Being able to bring this theme to the world of Minecraft is super exciting for me. I look forward to seeing what each student comes up!
**IMPORTANT** Students will need to be familiar with Minecraft, and know how to navigate the platform they choose to build on. There will be no lessons on how to use Minecraft. Students will also need to know how to take screenshots of their Minecraft builds, and upload them into the classroom. Depending on the device, steps to do this vary. It is important each student understand the device, and its settings, they are working with prior to enrolling in this class.

Students will work on each week's build challenge, at their own leisure, and upload their final build pictures at the end of each week.

Depending on the skills of each architect, and how elaborate they are wanting to get, I'm assuming 4+ hrs will be needed per week to get each challenge built, screenshots taken, and uploaded to the classroom forum.

Students will also be encouraged to take the time to browse the uploaded pictures their classmates post. Taking time to do this will be part of each students responsibility. Participation in the classroom forum conversations is required.
 1 file available upon enrollment
Minecraft (any platform) Students will be building independently.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and an estimated 4+ hours per week outside of class.
One of the build challenges will include the North Pole, so the mention of Santa Clause is bound to happen.

I share winter recipes that include the use of the stove and microwave. These recipes are just for sharing winter memories and are not required to be made during the class. If students choose to make these recipes, on their own, parental guidance is recommended.
