In the Medieval world of rival kingdoms there were two queens. Elizabeth I and her cousin Mary Queen of Scots. One on her throne, beautiful and ruthless. The other equally beautiful but plagued by misfortune at every turn. The two women could not feel secure in their futures with the other alive. The political stage was set and the fates were against the two women from the beginning. The parels and problems that come with the crown will be examined in terms of how each woman dealt with her lot in life. A life of power and privilege. How did events conspire to such an untimely end for the one and power and greatness for the other. In this course we will examine the lives of two queens who were both great in their own way. We learn about their world, a very tough world full of political intrigue and conniving courtiers and powers beyond the control of each queen. Through lecture and the examination of artworks connected to both queens we will find answers as to why each queen acted as she did and we will find out what the results of such actions were and how it affected their lives and Kingdoms.
