What color do you think of when you think about a shark? Do you wonder why the world’s largest predator is called a Great White shark? What does apex-predator mean? In this class, the students will learn all about the amazing Great White shark. Together we will dive into the cold waters where Great White sharks live. The students will explore the locations of their habitats through a fun interactive game. They will learn about the shark’s anatomy, biology, and behaviors. The students will be encouraged to share their prior knowledge and ask questions throughout the class. We will discuss the effects that humans are having on Great White sharks. We will have fun learning through a presentation, pictures, and videos, then create a shark drawing together at the end of the class. My teaching style: I enjoy having fun while teaching and politely encouraging my students to remember the rules to help the class run smoothly. I always want the students to share and interact as much as possible while allowing shy learners to watch and engage as they feel comfortable. I strive to help all learning types feel included in my class. My goal is to have your student share all the interesting facts they have learned for days after the class. My personal style of teaching is engaging, energetic and enthusiastic, with a touch of silly. I hope to share my passion for learning about all living creatures with each of my students.

After this class, the student will be able to discuss the anatomy of a Great White shark. They will be able to locate where Great White sharks live. They will be able to explain the different behaviors of the sharks. The students will explain their diet and their hunting habits. The students will discuss how humans are impacting the Great White shark.
