Watching their own experiment change before their eyes appears is magical and exciting! This will engage your child into learning the process behind the moving colors which is called “capillary process.“ The following will occur in my class: 1. Teaching chemistry basics behind “capillary process” 2. Your child completes the experiment at home using small clear cups, water, paper towels, and food coloring. 3. A lot of observations can be made and we will discuss these predictions amongst peers to keep it interactive and social. 4. Beautiful art is made along in the process. 5 No experience is necessary, curiosity is welcomed!
Learning Goals
Students will learn a lot about chemistry through beautiful colors as they transform before their eyes in this paper towel experiment.

Parental Guidance
We will be using food coloring, 6 small clear cups, and paper towels. Some parents may want to place a few paper towels under the project and/or some parents may want to assist during the food coloring set up.
