US Grade Preschool - 1
Beginner - Advanced Level
In this ongoing class for ages, 3 to 6, the children will learn age-appropriate information about the lives of different historical figures. Each class will be based around a book in one or more of the following book series: Ordinary People Change the World series by Brad Meltzer, Little People Big Dreams by Isabel Snachez-Vegara, She Persisted, and others as available. Each story will be presented on the shared screen while the teacher reads the story. Color activity sheets will be made available for printing prior to class. The color and activity sheets will help reinforce learning and understanding of each historical figure. Students will also be able to print a "map" or "gameboard". that will help them navigate their way through Biogrpahyland. No prior knowledge is needed. Questions will be asked throughout the class to help with understanding the story being shared. Please note that the "I am..." series by Brad Meltzer is a great place to begin learning about historical figures however the books sometimes leave out or slightly change events. Although I do not understand the purpose of this and I do not agree with it I still feel that this series of books is a great place to begin learning about history and important people in the world. Week 1 Amelia Earhart Week 2 Jackie Robinson Week 3 Sonia Sotomayor Week 4 Leonardo DaVinci Week 5: Marie Currie Week 6: Albert Einstein Week 7: Rosa Parks Week 8: Abraham Lincoln Week 9: Lucille Ball Week 10: Hellen Keller Week 11: George Washington Week 12: Jane Goodall Week 13: Jim Henson Week 14: Sacagewea Week 15: Gandhi Week 16: Harriet Tubman Week 17: Neil Armstrong Week 18: Billie Jean King Week 19: Walt Disney Week 20: Benjamin Franklin Week 21: Frida Kahlo Week 22: Anne Frank
