Join Captain Dan, the *second* most infamous pirate on the Seven Seas, for a visit to the Golden Age of Piracy! Captain Dan will tell students all about pirate ships, treasure, clothing and weapons, and the daily life of a Pirate on the open sea in a fun and engaging conversation with a living historical character. We will discuss the what separates a Pirate from a Privateer, learn sailing terminology, what it was like to live on a ship for long periods of time, the stories and songs Pirates...
Students will learn about the daily life of a Pirate in the 17th and 18th centuries through conversation with a Living History character
The teacher has been a Living Character Educator for over 7 years
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Discussions of Piracy in the 17th and 18th century may include some discussion of mild violence
