Description

Class Experience

Learners will gain different things depending on previous experience and learning. For some, they will learn new notes, understand a little more about music and be able to play a new tune. For others who have perhaps completed up to level 4 in the 'Steps to Recorder Brilliance' course, they will already have learned the notes so this class is extra practice to consolidate their learning and learn a new tune.

I have been learning and playing music since I was a small girl. I play piano, flute, saxophone, guitar and of course the recorder. I have played in bands and have also worked in a recording studio where I frequently played on backing tracks for singers. I have taught in English secondary schools for many years covering a wide range of subjects but specialising in music.
There is no set homework, however to master an instrument takes time and practice. Therefore, it is recommended that a learner spends a little time each day practicing their new skill.
Learners must have a soprano/descant recorder for this class. A recorder can be bought very inexpensively from music stores or online stores.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
