Students will share something special about themselves when they enter the classroom. Next, I will read the story "Anna and the Germ that Came to Visit" by Christianne Klein and Helene Van Sant-Klein. This story is about a little girl who tries to learn about the tricky germ and why she can't play with her friends or go to school. Students will discuss how they feel in these uncertain times. They will identify with the range of feelings that Anna is experiencing.
I have taught children from ages 5-8 for over 13 years. Discussing feelings is very important for this age range, especially in these uncertain times. I have attended professional development and trained in OSHA regulations on keeping children safe and not allowing germs to spread. The training that I have taken is OSHA approved. I also have professional development in- and many years of experience teaching about growth mindset.

Students will discuss their work.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
